A couple of experienced people I know have said the Yamaha "sounds like a Ramirez", whatever that means.Īt the moment, I have D'Addario EJ45 normal tension strings on the Larrivee and D'Addario EJ46C composite hard tension strings on the Yamaha. ![]() My local teacher prefers the Yamaha, but he is partial to cedar. In spite of the obvious differences between these guitars, to my surprise, I can't really hear the difference in sound between them. The Yamaha is from their "Music Craft" shop and is hand made, although not by a single luthier. This one has an American cedar top, Honduras rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, 650 mm scale length, polyurethane finish. ![]() ![]() This is in very good condition for its 32 years of age. This has a Sitka spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, Honduran mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, 660 mm scale length, nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
